Deenara is a prayer, Quran, and worship companion. We do not require an account. Worship data such as prayer times, your location for salah, bookmarks, and prayer logs stays on your phone. Advertising is provided by Google AdMob and is described below.
1. Who we are
This policy applies to the mobile application Deenara (Google Play package name com.deenara.app), operated by the developer of Deenara (“we”, “us”).
Contact for privacy questions: premiumworldhelp@gmail.com.
2. What this app does not do
- We do not ask you to create an account or provide a name, email, or phone number to use the app.
- We do not run our own user database or analytics server.
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not use the microphone, camera, contacts, or your files outside the app.
- Adhan alerts are local notifications on your device. We do not send remote push messages from our servers.
3. Information stored on your device
The following is saved locally (for example in app storage) so the app works offline and remembers your choices. We cannot read this data from our side because it never leaves your phone to us.
| Data | Why it is stored |
|---|---|
| Approximate or precise location (coordinates, city, country) | Calculate prayer times on the device and show Qibla direction. Optional — you can deny permission and still use Quran and other tools. |
| Prayer calculation settings (method, madhab, minute adjustments) | Match times to your local practice. |
| Adhan and reminder preferences | Schedule prayer notifications you turn on. |
| Prayer tracker, khatm planner, tasbih counts, zakat figures you enter, Quran bookmarks and last-read position, mushaf display settings | Keep your worship tools and reading progress. |
| Downloaded recitation audio | Play Quran audio offline after you choose to download a surah. |
| Compass / motion sensor readings | Point the Qibla compass. Used in real time on the device and not stored as a history we collect. |
Uninstalling Deenara, or clearing the app’s storage in Android Settings, deletes this on-device data.
4. Location
If you allow location permission, Deenara reads your current position to compute salah times and Qibla on the device. We do not upload your coordinates to a Deenara server (there is none).
To show a city and country name, the app may use the operating system’s reverse-geocoding service (provided by Google on Android). That step can send your coordinates to Google so a place name can be returned. Prayer-time math itself does not need the internet.
Location is used only while you are using the app (foreground). Deenara does not request background location.
5. Advertising (Google AdMob)
Deenara shows occasional full-screen ads (interstitial) between some screens, and optional rewarded video ads when you download recitation audio. Ads are not shown on the Home prayer screen or while you are reading the Quran or using the Qibla compass.
Ads are served by Google AdMob (Google LLC). The Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect or process information such as:
- Advertising ID (Android Advertising ID), unless you have opted out in device settings
- IP address, device type, operating system, language, time zone, and similar technical data
- App name, version, and how ads are shown or tapped
- Approximate location derived by Google from IP or device signals, used for ad serving
Deenara requests non-personalized ads from AdMob. Google may still receive the technical data above in order to deliver ads, measure them, and fight fraud. Personalized profiling for ads is not requested by us.
Google’s processing is governed by Google’s Privacy Policy and how Google uses data in AdMob.
You can limit ad tracking in Android settings (for example, delete or reset Advertising ID, or opt out of ads personalization). That does not remove all ads; it may make them less relevant.
6. Other third-party services
When a feature needs the network, your device contacts these providers directly. They may see your IP address and standard request logs:
- Islamic Network CDN (
cdn.islamic.network) — streaming or downloading Quran recitation audio. - Gold API (
api.gold-api.com) and ExchangeRate-API (open.er-api.com) — live gold, silver, and currency rates for the zakat calculator only. We do not send your name or zakat amounts to those services; only a price/FX request is made. - Google Play services — app distribution, location, ads, and device APIs as provided by Google.
Quran text and translations shipped inside the app are used on the device. We do not operate a content account for you.
7. Notifications and battery settings
If you enable adhan or reminders, Deenara schedules local notifications on your phone. The operating system needs notification permission. We do not receive a copy of those alerts.
You may be asked to exempt Deenara from battery optimization so prayer alerts are less likely to be delayed. That setting stays on the device.
8. Children’s privacy
Deenara is a general-audience worship app. It is not directed at children under 13 and is not designed as a children’s product under COPPA or Google Play Families policies. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through a third-party SDK, contact us and we will help as we reasonably can.
9. Data sharing, sale, and legal requests
We do not sell personal information. We do not share on-device worship data with data brokers. Information processed by Google AdMob and the other services in sections 5–6 is handled under their policies.
We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or integrity of users and the app, to the extent we actually hold such information (in most cases we do not hold user data on our servers).
10. International processing
Google and other third parties listed above may process data on servers outside your country, including the United States. Their safeguards are described in their own privacy policies.
11. Retention and your choices
- On-device data is kept until you change it, clear app storage, or uninstall Deenara.
- You can deny location and notification permissions in Android settings. Core Quran reading still works without location.
- You can turn off individual adhan alerts in the app.
- Advertising ID controls are in your Google account / device ads settings.
- To request deletion of data we hold: we do not store an account. Clearing the app or uninstalling removes local data. For AdMob-related questions, use Google’s tools and the contact email above.
Depending on where you live (for example the EEA, UK, or California), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of personal data, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Because we do not operate a user database, most of those rights are exercised on your device as described above. We will still respond to a request sent to our privacy email.
12. Security
Local data is protected by Android’s app sandbox. No method of electronic storage is completely secure. Protect your phone with a lock screen. We do not transmit your prayer log or bookmarks to our own servers.
13. Changes
We may update this policy when the app or the law changes. The “Effective date” at the top will be revised. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy. Material changes will be reflected in the listing or in-app notice where required.
